This educational video discusses the 2019 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines on diabetes, pre-diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases developed in collaboration with the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). More specifically, it explains the reclassification of cardiovascular risk in diabetes and the new treatment algorithms with glucose-lowering agents for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. It is aimed at primary care physicians, family physicians, general practitioners, endocrinologists, diabetologists, cardiologists, and other physicians involved in the management of diabetes.
