Dr. Vishnu Sharma, M.D. Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, shared his experience on "Use of Remdesivir in treating patients with severe COVID-19, case presentations". Dr Sharma started his session with an explanation about Remdesivir. Then he explained the indication dosage of Remdesivir with different case presentations. Dr Sharma shared his experiences in treating COVID patients and what are the indications, observations to start Remdesivir
Dr. Ravindra Mehta, Chief of Critical Care, Consultant pulmonologist/Sleep Medicine Specialties, Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore, shared "Remdesivir in COVID19 - Current status and Practical Issues". Dr Mehta explained about the use of Remdesivir before COVID era. He then explained why the drug is indicated as an antiviral medicine and its use in COVID patients. Dr Mehta explained about the mechanism of action of Remdesivir, and its evidence. He explained compassionate use of Remdesivir with severe COVID-19 patients and is it indicated in renal patients or no. The session was then continued with an explanation about drug interaction.
Panel discussion with Q&A session: After the speaker’s session, panel discussion started followed by Q&A session. The panel shared their experiences answering the questions and answers. Almost all questions were addressed by the speakers
