Module 1 : Introduction (00:01:39 – 00:08:54)
Mr. Puneet Rai from Ethicon introduced Dr. Akhil Saxena - the surgeon for the day, Dr. Prof. Lisolette Mettler, Moderator for the surgery and all the panelists for the event –Dr. Pushpa Mishra, Dr. Arun Kalpdev, Dr. Prof. Ganesh Dangal, Dr. Dhaval Baxi, Dr. Ana Turner and Dr. Asim Saha. The poll was raised. The structure of the webinar and the general instructions were shared before handing over the stage to Dr. Akhil Saxena.
Module 2 : Surgery (00:08:54 – 02:10:57)
Dr. Akhil Saxena began the session by thanking Dr. Prof. Lisolette Mettler for being a part of the event.
In this session Dr. Saxena performed three procedures namely, Myomectomy, Anterior Vaginal Wall Plication and Pectoplexy. Dr. Akhil Saxena gave a brief patient history and introduced his team. The ureter was traced. The clamps were removed and how to deal with vascular injuries was shared.
Vasopressin was injected. The number of units injected, and the dilution measurements were shared. Why was sling not used was explained. Dr. Akhil Saxena shared the trick of dissecting the fibroid. The energy source used in the surgery was Harmonic.
Pectineal ligament was dissected, and all the dissection was completed in one go which was shown and explained in detail. They type of mesh used was explained. The reason why the mesh shouldn’t be tightened too much was shared.
All the three procedures were performed with utmost precision.
Various questions were asked by the participants during the live surgery which were moderated by Dr. Lisolette Mettler very well.

Module 3 : Panel Discussion on the topic : Urological Injuries – prevention and management (02:10:57 – 3:34:09)
Dr. Akhil Saxena welcomed all the panelists for the panel discussion. He introduced why it is important to keep a check on the urological injuries.
First speaker for the discussion was Dr. Ana Turner presented on the topic Endoscopic and laparoscopic anatomy of the female urinary tract. Her talk included the locations at risk during the surgery.
Dr. Akhil Saxena presented on the topic Injuries of the Ureter – the common sites of injuries and their recognition. Apart from the common sites of the ureteric injuries the risk factors of the surgery were also explained. The various types on ureteric injuries and the consequences were shared during the session. How to do diagnose ureteric injuries were also explained in this talk.
Dr. Prof.Ganesh Dangal was the third speaker in the panel discussion. Dr. Dangal presented the topic – Management of Ureteric injuries. The intraoperative recognition and repair of the injuries were shared by Dr. Prof. Ganesh Dangal. He also covered the topic - Ureteric implantation during his talk. The best repair options were also shared by Dr. Prof. Ganesh Dangal.
Dr. Dhaval Baxi was the next speaker in the panel discussion. Dr. Baxi presented the topic – Prevention of Ureteric and U.B Injuries. During his session, Dr. Dhaval Baxi shared the importance of timely identification of the injuries. The topics - risk factors of urinary tract injuries, mechanism of injury, prevention of ureteric injury, prevention of energy source related injuries, identification of the bladder injuries, were covered by Dr. Baxi during his talk.
Dr. Asim Saha was the fifth speaker for the day. He presented the topic – Urinary Bladder injury during laparoscopic pelvic surgery and its management. Dr. Asim Saha spoke on the topic – recognition of bladder trauma injuries, its management, laparoscopic bladder suturing and recognition of bladder trauma post operatively.
The sixth speaker of the day in the panel discussion was Dr. Pushpa Mishra who presented on the topic – Delayed Urogenital injuries in Gynae & Obs. She spoke about the causes of the injuries. Investigation and Diagnosis on the injuries, Risk factors of ureteric injuries, delayed diagnosis of ureteral injuries and its causes.
Dr. Akhil Saxena presented on the topic – Role of ICG and other new technologies in ureter and bladder injuries. During his presentation, he showed a few pictures and video of delayed ureteric injuries, bladder injuries. The management according to the level of ureteric injury was elaborated using a flow chart.
