Module 2: Current scenario of Resistance pattern in Tertiary care Hospital: Dr Dipti Dhanwate, Consultant Microbiologis discussed about the resistance pattern in tertiary care hospitals. Key points of discussion were:
- Chloramphenicol susceptibility drawn only for isolates other than Urine culture,
- Tetracycline susceptibility drawn only for isolates other than blood cultures
- Nitrofurantoin and Fosfomycin susceptibility drawn for only urinary isolates
Module 3: Molecular diagnostics to combat antimicrobial resistance: Dr Beryl Oppenheim Senior Director, Medical Affairs, Cepheid discussed about the molecular diagnosis to combact AMR. Key points of discussion were:

Module 4: CRE as screening tool in solid organ Transplant: Dr Rahul Pandit, Chair Critical Care & Co-Chair HICC discussed about CRE as screening tools. Key points of discussion were:
- Antibiotics Innovation Gaps
- WHO Priority Pathogens List
- Evolution of Beta Lactamases
- Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Cohorting and other infection control policies are possible solutions
Module 5: CRE in ICU, Dr Darshana Rathod, Chief Intensivist, Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital spoke about CREs. Key point of her discussion were:
Monitored and supervised by the infection control team.
- Environmental culture to be performed on walls, beds, and equipment near beds like ventilators, suction bottles, infusion pumps, and desks, to confirm the isolation of CRE from the environment.
- High- and low- touched surfaces and floors cleaning and disinfection (Terminal cleaning)
- Minimize invasive procedures and monitored antibiotics use.
- Education of staff (Retraining / daily briefing)
Module 6: Impact of active surveillance of CROs: ‘A real-world experience in a tertiary care hospital in India’: Dr Yatin Mehta, Chairman, Medanta Institute of Critical Care & Anesthesia, Medanta The Medicity discussed about Impact of active surveillance, Key points of discussion were:
- The prevalence of CRO colonization and its association with infection in patients colonized with CRO is unclear in a high CRO burden setting
- CRO colonization was associated with subsequent CRO infection
