After Dr. Juneja’s talk, there was a panel discussion on, “Invasive mechanical ventilation in COVID: How is it different?” Dr. Suneel moderated the session, he asked several questions like invasive versus noninvasive ventilation in COVID, the difference in pathophysiology in ARDS of COVID & non-COVID, different indications of invasive mechanical ventilation for COVID & non-COVID patients, Delayed or early invasive ventilation for COVID patients, and several other questions were asked to the panelists. The panel discussion continued with a Q&A session. Questions received during Dr. Juneja’s session and panel discussion were answered by Dr. Juneja.
After the panel discussion, Dr. Bhaskar Saikia, Senior Consultant and In Charge PICU, Program Director Fellowship Pediatric Intensive Care, Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi shared his insights on, “COVID-19: Challenges and Approaches of Mechanical Ventilation in Pediatric and Neonate Populations.” Dr. Saikia explained the following points:
