Module 2: Welcome Address by Dr. Pankaj Bandarkar (00:06:38 - 00:08:09)
Dr. Pankaj Bandarkar, Secretary IMA - Maharashtra welcomed all the panelists and participants. Dr. Bandarkar thanked Mylan Pharmaceuticals for making this series of webinars a success.
Module 3: Treatment of Mucormycosis- Dr. Arunaloke Chakrabarti (00:08:09 - 00:35:51)
Dr. Mayuri Keskar invited Dr. Arunaloke Chakrabarti to share his insights on the topic of Treatment of Mucormycosis. Dr. Arunaloke Chakrabarti began his session by thanking IMA Maharashtra for this opportunity to speak on the current burning topic - Mucormycosis. Dr. Chakrabarti emphasized that Mucormycosis is not a black fungus; they are both caused by different organisms. Dr. Arunaloke through his presentation took us through the clinical presentation and risk factors of the disease in the discussion. How to diagnose? How to differentiate between CAPM from CAPA? When and how to suspect CAM? All these questions were answered in detail by Dr. Chakrabarti during his session. He also explained the treatment and management of mucormycosis. Heading towards the end of the session he summarized all the points he covered.
All the topics were covered in-depth and were very well explained.
Module 4: Case presentation of Mucormycosis- Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar (00:35:51 - 00:57:57)
Dr. Mayuri Keskar invited Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar to present a few cases of Mucormycosis. Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar on the outset thanked IMA Maharashtra for giving him an opportunity to be a part of this webinar on the current burning topic. He also thanked his fellow panelist, Dr. Arunaloke Chakrabarti for sharing the stage with him.
Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar during his session presented a total of 5 cases of Mucormycosis explaining all the cases in-depth and shared the brief history of the patient, early signs and symptoms of the disease in the patient, its presentation, the investigations, and medical and surgical management. Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar shared how they managed to buy time when there was a scarcity of the drugs required to treat the patients with Mucormycosis.
All the topics were covered in-depth and were very well explained.
Module 5: Question and Answer (00:57:57 - 01:19:32)
Dr. Mayuri Keskar moderated the numerous questions that were asked by the participants throughout the session. All the questions were answered by the speakers. It was an extremely interactive session.

In all, both the sessions conducted by the speakers - Dr. Arunaloke Chakrabarti and Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar respectively were very informative and knowledgeable.
