Module 1: Introduction: Dr Shubhi from Medical Learning Hub welcomed all participants and the speaker Dr. Sushant Mane and Dr. Sangeeta Sharma.She introduced the speakers briefly. All the general instructions were explained and the first poll was raised. Dr. Digambar Behera addressed the audience towards need of DRTB diagnosis and management.
Module 2: Clinical & Lab diagnosis of DRTB in pediatrics : Dr. Sushant Mane, Nodal officer at Center of Excellence for TB, JJ Hospital, Mumbai, shared his experiences in the management of tuberculosis in pediatric cases. He shared his experience on the clinical and lab diagnosis of DRTB in paediatric patients as below.
- Few clinical cases were presented with its clinical diagnosis, examination, diagnosis and treatment management.
- Different approaches and investigative techniques to confirm the DRTB case.
- Explanation of mono resistance, MDR-TB, poly resistance, pre XDR TB and XDR TB.

- Order of preference of NTEP approved Rapid Diagnostic Tests available under NTEP and certified private labs through IPAQT.
- Pediatric drug resistant TB diagnostic algorithm for all microbiologically diagnosed TB patients
Module 3: Treatment & Management of DRTB in Paediatrics: Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, Incharge HOD, National centre for Excellence for Paediatric TB and DRTB, NTRD Delhi shared her experience on the treatment and management of DRTB in paediatric. Orientation on reserve drugs and newer reserve drugs and its inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Classification of different drugs and its interaction with other drugs
- Recommendation on newer drugs in children and adolescents.
- Recommended dosage of different drugs in paediatric patients
- Child friendly formulation of drugs and criteria to give it to paediatric patients
- Side effects of second line drugs.
- DRTB regimens which include shorter and longer regimen. It also includes the designing all oral longer regimen for M/XDRTB
- Principles of management of DRTB treatment
- Different clinical cases were presented with its investigation, confirmation of diagnosis and treatment management.
Module 4: Q & A: Several questions were asked by participants and all were answered by Dr. Sushant and Dr. Sangeeta.
