Module 1: (00:00:00-00:05:42) Introduction and Poll: Medical Learning Hub team welcomed all the panelists and participants and raised the poll. Then the panelists were introduced and the structure of the webinar with general instructions were shared with the participants.
Module 2: (00:06:52-00:44:59) Pulmonary Comorbidities in COVID patients: Dr. Nandagopal Velayuthaswamy MD, Consultant Pulmonologist, Institute of Lung Care & Research Hindustan Hospital, Coimbatore started the session by discussing on pulmonary comorbidities. He explained about chronic pulmonary diseases, like Asthma, COPD, ICD, Thoracic cancer, Sleep apnea, Obesity and their relationship with COVID-19. Dr Nandagopal explained the do’sand don’t for patient, precautions to be taken and necessary required investigation for the case.
Module 3: (00:45:17-01:03:20) Clinical Studies & Current experience on Remdesivir- Is there a need to change our practice? Dr. M.N.Sivakumar, Head - Institute of Critical Care Medicine, Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, Coimbatore, continued the session by explaining about the pharmacological treatment for COVID disease. He explained in detail about Remdesivir, purpose of therapy in mild, moderate and severe disease. Dr Siva Kumar also shared their hospital experiences in treating COVID patients with the use of Remdesivir, its effects, contraindication, and adverse effects.
Module 4: (01:03:34-01:22:30) Question and Answer: Several questions were received during the session, which were answered by the speakers at the end of the session
