Max Institute of Medical Excellence welcomes you to a live online course on, "Airway Management: Basic & Advanced Online Course." Airway management is an essential skill for clinicians in the management of patients in critical and emergency situations. Airway management involves a series of maneuvers and medical procedures used to maintain or restore airway functionality. Airway management may be required in situations of airway obstruction, respiratory distress, or when the individual is under sedation. Depending on the clinical presentation of an individual, basic or advanced forms of airway management may be used.
At the end of this course, the participants would be able to:
- Describe the Airway anatomy and function
- Describe how to assess an airway for signs of compromise
- Describe the indications for airway intervention with special emphasis on the indications for intubation, but also describing the indications for BVM ventilation, and oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airways
- Describe the indications and contraindications of various routes of tracheal intubation including Rapid sequence Intubation • Describe the hemodynamic consequences of intubation
- Describe the concept of the difficulty airway
- Describe the management of failed intubation, can’t intubate, can’t ventilate.

- Anatomy of the airway
- Assessment of the airway
- Establishment and Maintenance of the airway: Indication of artificial airway including endotracheal intubation.
- Emergency airway management including the use of Bag-Mask ventilation, oro-pharyngeal and naso-pharyngeal airways.
- Preparation of Intubation
- Assessment and management of difficult airway
