Module 1: Welcome and Introduction (00:00:00 - 00:07:21)
Dr. Vineet Agarwal from Ethicon welcomed the panellists and introduced Dr. Vivek Salunke, Dr. Dhaval Baxi and Dr. Shinjini Pande surgeons for the day.
Dr. Vineet Agarwal gave a brief description about the surgeries that will be performed and the general instructions for the event were given before handing over the session to the surgeons.
Module 2: Surgical presentation by Dr. Shinijini Pande (00:07:21- 01:52:18)
Dr. Shinjini Pande started the session by giving the detailed history of the patient. The anatomy was explained and the investigation reports were shown. Dr. Pande then started performing the surgery by explaining the port positions. The dissection was shown in detail. The round ligament was divided, the bowel was released.
During the surgery the benefits of using a 3D system and using the smoke evacuator were mentioned. The bowel preparation required before the surgery was also touched upon.
Then, Vasopressin was injected and the concentration was shared. While performing the surgery with utmost precision Dr. Pande also mentioned that she prefers doing the dissection using harmonic.
The reason why stenting of the ureter isn’t preferred was also shared by Dr. Shinjini Pande.
Throughout the relay of the surgery Dr. Shinijini Pande explained the steps in detail.
It was a very informative session.
Module 3: Video (01:52:18 - 01:57:40)
Dr. Vineet from the Ethicon team then played a video for the audience on the topic: Ultrasonic hand generator.
Module 4: Surgical presentation by Dr. Dhaval Baxi (01:57:40 - 03:47:25)
Dr. Sonam from the team of Dr. Dhaval Baxi at Motherhood hospital gave a detailed history of the patient and also explained the investigation findings. The plan of the surgery was also mentioned.
Then Dr. Dhaval Baxi, mentioned the steps of the surgery. The dissection and the anatomy was shown in detail. The importance of using 3D for giving good depth perception was shared. The important landmarks one should know were shared. The ureter, internal iliac artery and a few more structures were identified.
The tips and tricks to identify the nerves were explained by Dr. Dhaval Baxi.
The type of imaging used and preferred was shared by Dr. Baxi.
The special anesthesia considerations required for the laparoscopic surgery was explained by Dr. Rahul Jain, from the team of Dr. Dhaval Baxi.
The various questions that were asked by the participants were moderated by Dr. Vivek Salunke and answered by Dr. Dhaval Baxi.
Pelvic lymph node dissection was done. The landmarks were shown.
Module 5: Video (03:07:11 - 03:13:28)
Dr. Mayuri from team MLH then played an Ethicon video on smoke evacuator for the audience.
Module 5: Surgical presentation by Dr. Vivek Salunke (03:47:25 - 06:04:20
A detailed history of the patient was shared for the next patient by Dr. Shinjini Pande. The surgery was performed by Dr. Vivek Salunke. The vasopressin was injected.
The active endometriotic glands were shown.
The ureter was identified. The importance of tracing the ureter was mentioned.
How fat helps in surgery was explained by Dr. Salunke.
The dissection and the anatomy was shown in detail.
The various questions asked by the participants were moderated by the moderator and answered by Dr. Vivek Salunke.
The superficial adenomyosis was removed.
In all, all the three surgeries were performed with utmost precision.
Module 6: (04:40:10 - 04:49:11)
Dr. Dhaval Baxi and Dr. Vicek Salunke then thanked the team Ethicon and MLH for the event. Then Dr. Sameeksha Saxena Lamba (PT) and Dr. Mayuri Keskar from team MLH thanked team Ethicon. The poll was raised.
